As a financial and business consulting company, FM-CL was found by Mr. Eddy Ko in Hong Kong. Eddy is a professional registered accountant in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong and has worked in Hong Kong, China, and Southeast Asia for many years. He had worked for Labuan International Business and Financial Center (LIBFC) under the Ministry of Finance of the Malaysian Government for many years. He is strong with cross-border trade, business acquisitions, and other businesses, and has a good understanding of offshore financial laws and deal structure arrangements. He participated in the drafting of Hong Kong’s Islamic financial laws and replied to queries at the Hong Kong Legislative Council. He had led many Chinese companies to visit different states in Malaysia and neighboring countries for project sites and government business visits. During his service in the Malaysian government, he worked closely with the Malaysian business sectors and departments including MIDA and MaTrade, and promoted Malaysian products and services. He had participated in the preparation of business and financial exhibitions, forums, and business matching activities in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu with the Ministry of Commerce and had achieved fruitful results, including the Malaysian food exhibition in Shanghai and the Malaysian service industry exhibition in Chengdu, etc. Besides, FM-CL also actively participated in business and financial investment activities in ASEAN countries, African countries, and other countries, including previously invited to the financial security and food safety forums held in Russia.
Earlier Eddy made commendable inroads by establishing a network with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Beijing for the Belt & Road initiative. Later Eddy kept in contact with Asian Development Bank (ADB) on regional updates. In recent years with the Covid-19 travel restrictions in various countries, FMCL has begun to actively participate in activities on online platforms and media platforms in different countries with its partners.
